Now In More Detail

The Problem

The Gospel that Jesus Christ preached solves the worlds biggest problems and yours too. By living contrary to the creator God’s “User Instructions” we have become damaged, soiled and disconnected from our pure and loving God. To be restored back into a close relationship with God, Jesus Christ taught we need to follow Him and become one of His disciples.

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and Yehovah hath laid on him (Jesus) the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he opened not his mouth. [Isa 53:6-7]

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. (Mat 11:28-30)

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. (Mat 16:24)

God’s Golden Rule

God’s well established golden rule for a civilised and harmonious society is that you treat others like you want to be treated. However, there are many self obsessed individuals who without any conscience, consider themselves so superior to you that they are entitled to blatantly break this rule and abuse you and reign over you. At the other extreme there are others that against their will, find themselves addicted to emotions and behaviour that are offensive to others and even themselves. If we are truly self aware and able to be honest about ourselves, we are compelled to admit that we have broken God’s Golden Rule.

Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. (Mat 7:12)

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that does evil hates the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that does truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. (Joh 3:16-21)

Forgiveness

Not only have we offended other people by our self centred attitudes and behaviour, but more importantly God. To enter a loving relationship with God we need our past offensive attitudes and behaviour to be forgiven and our old nature that compelled us to be selfish renewed. This enables us to rise above all our old tormenting addictions that drove us to do those offensive things.

For the Son of man (Jesus) is come to seek and to save that which was lost. (Luk 19:10)

But go ye and learn what that means, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. (Mat 9:13)

Repentance

To be reconciled to God we need to admit to Him our selfish attitudes and offensive activities. Unless you have seriously hardened your heart, your conscience tells you when you have done wrong. God has also made it clear what attitudes and behaviour are wrong through His famous Ten Commandments. Then we need to renounce, turn away from and repent of those things and ask God not to only forgive us but also cleanse us of our old impure nature.

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. (Act 2:38-39)

New Nature

A major problem for us is that we have a corrupted nature that is addicted to selfish attitudes and behaviour. It is here that we discover the incredible depth and power of the gospel of Jesus Christ. God wants to turn us into a new creature by putting His Holy Spirit within us. This gives us a new life source to draw upon that purifies our corrupt nature and also empowers us to live so that our attitudes and behaviour are no longer offensive to Him. If our new purified life, that now pleases God, should offend others, then it is they who have the problem.

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. [Eze 36:26]

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. [2Cor 5:17]

Baptism in the Holy Spirit

So the most wonderful news of all time is that we can enjoy a relationship with God again through having our sins forgiven, our hearts washed clean and receiving His Holy Spirit. Some sins enable evil spirits to become attached to you and they can cause destructive attitudes, behaviours, addictions and illnesses. Through the power of the gospel they can be commanded to leave. Then you are free to live an amazing new life in God.

If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly (heart) shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Spirit was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
[Joh 7:37-39]

The Gospel

There are four biographies of the life of Jesus in The Bible. They are famously called; Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Together they are also referred to as the four gospels. Actually they only act as an introduction to the gospel of Jesus Christ. For a more detailed description of the gospel we suggest you read the book of Romans.
